Subject:"I lied"

I am starting to really dislike this "mis-" business.  "I misremembered", "I misspoke" and so on instead of "I was wrong."

Ben asked me yesterday who I was "for," Obama or Clinton.  I've liked Barack Obama ever since I've heard of him, which was a couple of years ago.  He seems genuinely interested in helping people, and is fiercely intelligent.  While Clinton is indeed fierce and intelligent, I feel like she is disingenuous.  And, she freaks me out a little.  I realize she's human, but it does bother me that she can be brittle, and for some reason, she strikes me as a person who could, at any time, yell "TINA! BRING ME THE AXE!" or some other Joan Crawfordism, while Obama seems pretty level-headed.  And this impression has nothing to do with Clinton's gender--I can see Howard Dean backfiring a la Ash from "Alien" and spitting up milk everywhere.

Either way--I am excited about having a Democrat in the White House.  There are aspects of John McCain that I like, but he is totally against gay rights and wants to overturn Roe v Wade--and that's a dealbreaker for me.

Hooray for America--our politics are more interesting than your politics.

is voting "no" a valid choice?

I've been disheartened pretty recently with all the backtracking absolutely every candidate (except Ralf Nader) has been doing. i do the pros and cons game but everybody always turns up "Cons" (except Ralf Nader). and for the first time, I feel like my vote actually counts... so I have to vote for one of the candidates (except Ralf Nader), because right now, its anybody's (excluding, well... you know) game. And I'm stuck with a bunch of "Cons"!

lets face it...
hillary is a criminal. (white water anyone?)
Barak's mouth is currently writing checks he now knows we can't cash.
McCain was driven insane by his years of solitude, with hostile people who don't speak the same language... as a senator in the US Government.
and Ralf Nader is a good guy with a whole career focused like a laser on public safety, who has a snowball's chance in Heck.
