I am starting to really dislike this "mis-" business. "I misremembered", "I misspoke" and so on instead of "I was wrong."
Ben asked me yesterday who I was "for," Obama or Clinton. I've liked Barack Obama ever since I've heard of him, which was a couple of years ago. He seems genuinely interested in helping people, and is fiercely intelligent. While Clinton is indeed fierce and intelligent, I feel like she is disingenuous. And, she freaks me out a little. I realize she's human, but it does bother me that she can be brittle, and for some reason, she strikes me as a person who could, at any time, yell "TINA! BRING ME THE AXE!" or some other Joan Crawfordism, while Obama seems pretty level-headed. And this impression has nothing to do with Clinton's gender--I can see Howard Dean backfiring a la Ash from "Alien" and spitting up milk everywhere.
Either way--I am excited about having a Democrat in the White House. There are aspects of John McCain that I like, but he is totally against gay rights and wants to overturn Roe v Wade--and that's a dealbreaker for me.
Hooray for America--our politics are more interesting than your politics.
